It is an attractant in its own right but its vitamin content also makes it a valuable food source, especially when added to protein mixes. Use up to 3oz (100g) per 16oz (500g) mix.

A highly nutritious seed, hemp is rich in oil and protein and is high in fat, carbohydrate and trace elements. Small enough to be fed to young, it contains essential fatty and amino acids and is a fantastic energy source, making it an ideal 'pick 'n' mix' food.

You won't find bigger hemp than this stuff. It's huge and a perfect hookbait for roach. Soak in plenty of water for 12 hours or more before boiling for at least 30 minutes until the seed splits and the white kernel inside is revealed. For fishing, choose a grain that's split, but not too much, and slide the bend of a size 18 fine-wire, wide-gape hook inside. Use a light float and feed half a dozen grains every five minutes or so.

This is hempseed that has been heated without water so that oils are released and 'explode' out. It is then cooled and ground up. Grilled hemp should be added just before the start of a session and is best used in depths of less than 8 feet. Top canal anglers use grilled hemp as part of their grounbait mix, especially where roach are the quarry. Added just before the start, it has lots of activity in the water.
