We have plenty of pot grown Asparagus plants which can be purchased all year and planted when you want, no rush to plant. Take the time to prepare your Asparagus bed to give your plants the perfect start.

Green asparagus (Connovers Colossal, Mary Washington and F1 Hybrids) 1 year old crowns/this year's plants. Our plants are pot grown and the crowns are grown in specially designed outdoor beds.

We recommend that you plant them on arrival as this is the perfect time. The first pick for these plants will be 12 months on, but only a light pick, with following years yielding large and bountiful harvests.

Crowns are supplied bare rooted during the dormant season December through to April. Crowns are best planted in late winter to avoid sitting in cold damp conditions. Plants are sold all year round as they are grown in pots and kept indoors. They can be planted any time of the year as the root ball is not disturbed during transit.

Asparagus Plants 'Jersey Knight F1 hybrid' 1 year old

.This is a superior variety of Asparagus that produces premium quality spears up to 2cm thick. Cropping potential is enormous and whilst it is what is termed as an F1 Hybrid for uniformity of growth the plants are grown under our ‘nature’s way’ conditions.

It has a high tolerance to Fusarium, Crown and Root Rot.

Up to 20 years cropping can be expected making this a highly profitable variety in every way for amateur and smallholder alike.

Asparagus Plants 'Connovers Colossal 1 year old

An excellent variety with bright green spears with deep purple tips. Though this is an old, popular variety it produces an exceptionally high yield. The plants are best planted on receipt and though a few spears can be cut the following year it is best left another year so that it can build into a strong plant. It has been given an AGM (Award of Garden Merit) by the Royal Horticultural Society as its an outstanding variety.

Garden: care: Plant crowns in a trench that is 30cm (12in) wide by 20cm (8in) deep with a central ridge that is 10cm (4in) high. Place the crown on the ridge, spreading the roots out evenly and cover with soil. Harvest the spears in mid-spring when they are about 15cm (6in) tall and fairly thick.

Crowns which are grown outside in special Asparagus beds are only despatched throughout the dormant winter months from December to mid March and are sold bare rooted; after that pot grown plants are supplied. We will notify you with a delivery date after placing your order.

Asparagus 'Purple Pacific'

.More tender and sweet than many green varieties. The spears are basically string less and delicious eaten raw, with dips, or sliced in salads. Colour is lost if cooked so is best steamed. Produces supersweet white spears if earthed up.

These are pot grown and sold in 9cm pots. This means you can plant when ever you like as they don't need lifting from fields during the dormant season.

These plants are two years old and can take a light cut next year. They are between 60 cm and 1m tall and in 1 litre pots. It's not too late to start you asparagus bed with these plants and you don't have to waite 2 years for you first cut.

Produces heavier yields with tighter tips than the original. Emerald spears have the same superior flavour, reliability and extra-long cutting period.

Asparagus commands a high price at the supermarket, but commercially grown spears never measure up to the delicate sweet flavour of homegrown. Garden asparagus is a bargain, plant it just once for annual springtime harvests for 20 years or more

From German breeding, heavy flush of large spears early in the season with significant yield and quality improvements over many varieties.
